What if your child's drawing lit up the port of Palma this Christmas? The Balearic Port Authority (APB) is running the second edition of «Del papel al cielo» (From paper to sky), the children's contest that turns a drawing into sustainable Christmas lights. 🎨✨
Open to children aged 5 to 15 living in the Balearic Islands. Entry is free and online, through the Ports de Balears website (in Spanish and Catalan).
🎨 FROM PAPER TO SKY 2026
📅 Drawings accepted until Sunday 25 October 2026
🗳️ Public vote from 26 October to 1 November
📍 Port of Palma (Moll Vell)
🎟️ Free entry
✏️ How to take part
Any theme inspired by Christmas, the sea, boats or port life: a character, an object, a fantasy figure or a whole scene. On an A4 sheet, portrait or landscape, using pencils, markers, watercolours or poster paint.
Scan or photograph it (max 9 MB) and upload it with the online form. Digital drawings and AI-generated images are not accepted. Simple shapes and clear outlines work best, since the winning drawing will become a light.
🗳️ A light chosen by everyone
The APB will pick five finalists, published on 26 October for the public to vote. The winner is announced on 2 November and the drawing will be reproduced in several lights brightening a spot in the port of Palma over the holidays, switched on officially in late November.
🌍 Lights that care for the planet
The lights are made with recyclable, plastic-free materials, low-energy LEDs and solutions that reduce light pollution.
ℹ️ Good to know: the form is filled in by a parent or guardian. Check the rules on the website before sending the drawing.
✨ Grab your colours and take your drawing from paper to sky.
