Every August, Puigpunyent celebrates its traditional Festes de la Mare de Déu d'Agost i Sant Roc, an event that fills this charming village in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains with culture, music, sports, and tradition. From August 1st to 16th, locals and visitors can enjoy a full program designed to foster community and keep local customs alive.

For more than two weeks, the streets of the municipality host poetry recitals, art exhibitions, concerts, popular gastronomy, sports competitions, charity activities and the eagerly awaited open-air dance nights, offering options for all ages in a unique environment.

📖 August 1 | Poetry and Tradition

The festivities begin with the decoration of the village streets and the second edition of Poesia a la Serra, a literary event that brings together renowned authors such as Biel Mesquida, Antònia Vicens, Sebastià Alzamora, and Júlia Febrer. The evening concludes with live music and a tasting of local wines and products.

🎨 August 2 | Night of Art al Carrer

Art takes to the streets with a day dedicated to live creation. Local artists transform the center of Puigpunyent while renowned artist Pep Guerrero carries out an art installation on Carrer Major. The program includes workshops with botanical pigments, the energetic batucada Rauxa, and music by DJ Eridu.

🎉 August 7th | Opening Ceremony and Outdoor Dinner

The festivities begin in earnest with the official opening speech, delivered by Majo Puig Lledó, councilor of Vall de Gallinera, a municipality twinned with Puigpunyent.

Afterwards, locals and visitors share the traditional Sopar a la Fresca, a large popular dinner where Mallorcan specialties such as escaldums are served in a festive and family atmosphere.

🎭 August 8 | Carnabars

The town's bars become stages for live music with Carnabars, an original festive route set in different historical periods that invites you to explore the town amidst concerts and a great atmosphere.

💛 August 9 | Solidarity and Ball de Bot

The afternoon begins with a charity event whose proceeds go entirely to ASPANOB, the Balearic Islands' association for helping children with cancer.

In the evening, the spotlight is on the Ball de Bot, the traditional Mallorcan dance, with a performance by Aires d'Andratx and a lively popular dance open to all attendees.

🎶 August 14 | Great Revetla

One of the most anticipated nights of the festivities arrives with the traditional Revetla, which brings together live music and a street party until the early hours with performances by Trio Acuarius, Descaleixats, Sonats and DJ Polichy.

⛪ August 15 | Day of the Mare de Déu d'Agost

The main day of the festivities is celebrated with the solemn High Mass in the church of Puigpunyent, one of the most traditional and emotional events of the program.

💪 August 16 | Sport and farewell

The festivities conclude with the popular VIII Puigpunyentina Spartan Race, a fun obstacle course that brings together participants of all ages every year.

As a grand finale, locals and visitors share the traditional Spartan Paella, a popular meal that brings to a close more than two weeks of celebration.

🍅 Gastronomy and sport

Gastronomy plays a prominent role during the festivities, with communal dinners, tastings of local products, and the traditional nighttime tremponada (a traditional fruit drink). In addition, the fourth edition of the Saó Awards is held, a competition that recognizes the best tomatoes grown without chemicals.

The sports program includes padel, tennis, basketball and football tournaments, as well as the cycling time trial and different activities designed to encourage the participation of the entire municipality.
