On 8 September 2026, Sa Bassa Rotja hosts one of the most relaxed dates of the Deià International Music Festival: folk music and cinema in the hands of a saxophone and a piano. 🎶🎬

The duo SpaDuet — saxophonist Rodrigo Pérez Vila and pianist Alfredo Oyagüez Montero — presents “Folk and Movies” as part of the Sa Bassa Rotja Cultural 2026 series.

📖 The programme

The Folk half brings Hau-Ting Kwan's Taiwanese Folk Song, Manuel de Falla's Seven Spanish Folk Songs and George Gershwin's Three Preludes.

The Movies half runs through John Williams's Schindler's List, Nicola Piovani's Life is Beautiful, Luis Bacalov's Il Postino, Ennio Morricone's Cinema Paradiso, the Waltz from Jazz Suite No. 2 by Shostakovich and Astor Piazzolla's Oblivion and Libertango.

The Porreres estate is the festival's home in the Pla de Mallorca. A close-up format with limited capacity, where the audience listens just a few metres from the performers.
