II Mostra de la Tonyina de Pollença
The Government and the Pollença City Council, together with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Medicine (General Directorate of Agro-Food Quality and Local Product) and the Fishermen's Association of Pollença, organized this event within the framework of the fair "Flavors of the Bay" with the objective of promoting the consumption of quality local tonyina.
The event combines gastronomy, culture and territory, valuing the privileged environment of Pollença Badia and its ties to the local fishing sector. Tonyina is a seasonal fish caught in a sustainable manner with maximum guarantees of freshness, since the distance between the fisherman and the consumer is minimal. The Balearic Islands manage an annual fishing quota of around 50 tons of tonyina.
