The Barceló Foundation will host the solo painting exhibition "The Abundance of Emptiness" by the renowned Japanese artist Yoshinosuke Kozu from October 20 to November 7, 2026. Born in Tokyo in 1972 and based in Madrid, Kozu has developed his own pictorial language that articulates Eastern tradition and sensibility with a profound European and Mediterranean experience.
His work explores genres such as landscape, figure, and still life from a contemporary perspective characterized by subtlety, formal restraint, and an introspective dimension. Throughout his career, he has presented exhibitions in various internationally prestigious venues and maintains a close artistic relationship with Mallorca, where he has exhibited in emblematic locations such as the Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa.
The Barceló Foundation has been working for over 36 years in international development cooperation, with programs in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Latin America in the areas of community health, water and sanitation, education, and community development. In Mallorca, it develops local social programs providing food assistance and raising awareness, along with artistic and cultural initiatives that promote talent through exhibitions, awards, and collaborations.
