Biniamar, the smallest village in the municipality of Selva, comes to a standstill for a whole week to celebrate its patron saint. Bagpipes, flags, open-air dances, a communal dinner, theater, and a closing fireworks display. 🥁🎆

The Festes de Santa Tecla 2026 They are held from September 16 to 23, with two preliminary events the previous weekend.

Saturday 12, 7.00 p.m. — Biniamar donates the sus. To the rhythm of xeremies and tamborí, the lords and ladies of the manor proceed to the church to hang the flag, in remembrance of the estates of Son Bassa, Son Llampaies, and Son Odre. The festivities conclude with a traditional dance, a barbecue of botifarrons (Catalan sausages), the Monkey Doo Swing Band, and a rum bonfire.

Sunday 13, 10:00 a.m. — Diada Motera. VIII Volta en Moto from Plaça d'Es Torrentet, arriving at Església Nova at 1:30 p.m., food trucks and DJ Galbert.

Wednesday 16. Flag pose with CEIP Es Torrentet students (12:00 p.m.), fences with xeremies (7:00 p.m.), hydraulic rajola exhibition by Guillem Capó (7:30 p.m.) and Fiesta proclamation by Paco Carmona (8:00 p.m., Església Nova).

Thursday 17th. Science workshop (5:00 p.m.) and Showvision (9:30 p.m.).

Friday 18. Children's Holi Festival in Es Torrentet (6:00 p.m.) and Gran Verbena Nit Jove with Zapato Veloz, DJ Calderón and DJ Tereg (00:00 a.m.).

Saturday 19th. Children's and youth games with bouncy castles and playroom (5:00 p.m.), the musical The Little Mermaid (7:30 p.m.) and Santa Tecla Festival with Tomeu Penya & Geminis, DJ Oscar Romero and DJ Xiri & SamBerm (11:30 p.m.).

Sunday 20. Binivermut with Jaume Mas (12:00 pm), a tribute to the elderly with a solemn service (5:30 pm) and the musical The Scene (10:00 PM).

Monday 21st. Storytelling in the Library (5:30 p.m.) and bingo in the Plaça Major (8:30 p.m.).

Tuesday 22, 9:00 p.m. — Sopar Popular. Dinner prepared with dishes brought by local families; the Town Hall provides water, wine, and bread. Please bring your own plate, glass, cutlery, and napkin, and deliver your food to the Església Nova between 8:00 and 8:30 pm. Musical entertainment by Folux.

⛪ Wednesday 23rd: the day of Saint Tecla

Cercavila with xeremiers (11.00 a.m.), solemn office in the Església de Santa Tecla presided over by the bishop of Mallorca Sebastià Taltavull (11.30 a.m.) and popular refreshment. In the afternoon, Correguda de Joies on Pare Francesc Bonafé street (1:30 p.m.), children's entertainment with Cucorba Group (6:00 p.m.) and, at 9:00 p.m., the Grup de Teatre Aficionat de Biniamar stages On ets?by Toni Oliver i Garau. The festivities end with the pyromusical.

📖 The party

The program includes children's theater, presentations of local books, a concert by the Coral Minuet choir celebrating its 20th anniversary, a tribute to senior citizens, and the traditional climb to the Pi Ensabonat (Baked Pine Tree). The festivities continue with further events on September 25th and 27th.

🏛️ Six decades of harvest

The Vermada honours the generations who worked the vines of the DO Binissalem. The first fideus night at Can Arabí was held in 1982 and today it draws thousands of people every year.
