Warm summer nights, a big screen under the stars, and a carefully curated selection of films for all ages. Open-air cinema returns to Palma this summer with free screenings in some of the city's most beloved public spaces.

From August 3 to September 2, 2026, residents and visitors alike can enjoy a wide variety of films, from award-winning international productions and family classics to Spanish cinema, animation, cult films and silent film masterpieces, as part of Palma's annual summer cultural program.

• The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari - A special silent film screening in collaboration with Insel Radio, to celebrate one of the great classics of cinema.
• The General - Buster Keaton's legendary silent comedy, which celebrates its centenary and closes the season.

Most of the screenings take place in the Park of the Stations. The last three screenings move to the Plaza Francesc García i Orell (Pere Garau).

Few things capture the spirit of a Mediterranean summer like an open-air cinema night. Bring a chair or a blanket, gather your friends and family, and enjoy a diverse film program in the heart of Palma, completely free and under the stars.

A diverse program of classical music, jazz, flamenco, folk, contemporary sounds and special exhibitions as part of Nits a la Fresca, the summer concert series that returns to Can Gelabert on Thursdays from July to September.

Held in the courtyard of the historic Casal de Cultura Can Gelabert, this intimate open-air setting brings together acclaimed local, national and international artists for unforgettable summer nights.

What if time wasn't measured in hours... but in light?

Starting with a gesture as simple as looking at the sun,Aina Albo PuigserverIt invites us to enter a universe where light becomes matter, language, and a trace of the passage of time. This exhibition, created specifically for Space D ofEs Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art of PalmaIt is not limited to what we see: it moves us beyond the walls, towards an intimate, abstract and constantly transforming map.

Here, theinterstices—those tiny, almost invisible spaces between one moment and the next— reveal themselves as places where something begins to happen. They are pauses charged with meaning, where time silently becomes visible.

The exhibition route is traversed by theanalemmaThat figure-eight curve the sun traces throughout the year. It's not a tangible figure, but a writing of light. Through delicate geometries and materials like glass, wood, or glazes, the artist constructs a dialogue between precision and perception, between science and intuition.

More than an exhibition,IntersticesIt is an experience: an experiment where time is not only represented, but inscribed in matter. A reminder that time is not linear, but a living curve that transforms as we observe it.

🌿 About the artist

Born in Palma, Aina Albo Puigserver explores the intersection of landscape, geometry, and natural phenomena in her practice. Her works arise from contemplation and invite us to inhabit that uncertain territory between the real and the possible.

Climb up to the terraces to see Palma from above: bay, bell tower, flying buttresses and rose window (guided tours in shifts)

If you are looking for a “wow” plan without leaving the center, this is one of the most special experiences: you tour the terraces of the Cathedral and see up close elements that are normally only appreciated from below (buttresses, rose windows, Gothic details), as well as brutal views of the bay and the city.

The visits are made in groups, with shifts every 30 minutes and lasting approximately 1 hour.

It is the typical plan that surprises even if you have already been to the Cathedral: it totally changes the perspective and feels very “Palma”.

The Cathedral-Basilica of Santa María de Mallorca will host the exhibition "Gaudí at the Cathedral of Mallorca. Liturgy, art and modernity", an exhibition that explores in an informative and documented way the influence of Antoni Gaudí on the Mallorcan temple.

The “market” of Santa Catalina is actually the neighborhood's municipal market: perfect for going to buy fish, fruit, cheese, sausages or flowers… and staying for a drink without leaving the place.

It is one of those plans that works whether you live in Palma or are visiting.

Good place to see local life in Palma: quick shopping, fresh produce and a lot of atmosphere (especially on Saturdays).

According to the market itself, the “commercial” hours are usually until 3:00 p.m., while the restaurant part lasts until 5:00 p.m. (and the fishmongers close on Mondays).

The Manacor market is set up every week in the center, around the Mare de Déu dels Dolors church and up to Plaça Ramon Llull.

It is one of the most complete markets if you are looking for clothing, leather goods, footwear and everyday things.

✅ Why go
Good plan to “do errands with grace”: you can find everything from basics and accessories to leather items, and it also allows you to walk through the pedestrian center with a Monday atmosphere.

❌ To keep in mind
If you go late, there are more people and some stalls run out of sizes or better pieces. If you can, go first thing in the morning.
