📖 The proposal

Born in Cairo and based in New York, Ghada Amer is known for her stitched paintings, where embroidering erotic images onto the canvas blurs the vision and directs the pleasure toward the thread rather than the subject. In her ceramic sculptures, as uncontrollable as they are liberating, and in her bronzes, she translates that same painterly impulse: every painted, embroidered, or sculpted nuance becomes relevant.

The exhibition brings together three decades of sculptural work, including fountains created in collaboration with the Mallorcan pottery workshop of Pere Coll and windbreaks that act as barriers, both protecting and framing the images. A transcultural perspective that transcends disciplines, genres, and territories.
