Cinema and its relationship with music is one of the ingredients of the Jazz Voyeur Festival program each year. In this its thirteenth edition, the film series is dedicated to the music of the Italian composer Enrico Morricone, who passed away last July.
The first of the three films being screened is Sacco and Vanzetti, a 1971 Italian docudrama directed by Giuliano Montaldo that tells the true story of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. Ennio Morricone wrote a remarkable soundtrack for the film and it has become one of the most famous.
The rest of the films in the cycle are The Mission (November 25) and Cinema Paradiso (December 2).
