Mallorca’s Railway Museum marks its first anniversary with a special five-day programme at the historical Son Carrió station facilities. 🚂🎉

The celebrations bring together heritage talks, creative workshops, documentary screenings and activities exploring the island’s railway legacy.

📖 Five days of heritage, culture and workshops

Celebrations begin on Wednesday 4 with 'El Tren dels Sentits', a guided tour paired with an adult sensory workshop exploring how the railway supported trade in local products such as wine, carob, almonds, soap and salt.

On Thursday 5, the museum screens the documentary 'La Escuela de los Trenes', directed by Toni Madico, recalling the years when CEIP Sant Miquel held classes in these buildings, followed by a talk with teachers and students. On Friday 6, S’Arrel de Mallorca leads a hands-on traditional soap-making workshop, leading into the weekend festivities.

🏛️ A living home for railway history

Opened in November 2025 at the former railway facilities in Son Carrió, the museum offers an immersive experience featuring audiovisual displays and restored carriages recounting the birth of Mallorca’s railways in the late 19th century.
