📖 About the concert

The programme “Actes extraordinaris” brings together two historic ensembles rooted in the island's traditions for a memorable musical event inside the Cathedral.

Conducted by chapel master Joan Company Florit, around twenty seasoned choral and solo singers join the ministrils to perform this special repertoire.

🏛️ The ensembles

The Capella Musical de la Seu has accompanied cathedral services since the 16th century. Its current incarnation was formed in November 2020 and preserves an archive of over 400 sacred scores ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary music.

The Joch de Ministrils del Consell de Mallorca is a historical wind and percussion ensemble carrying on centuries of European tradition in solemnising civil, military, and religious ceremonies, with roots in Mallorca dating back to 1595.
