📖 The Final Moments of Dinosaurs
Non-avian dinosaurs dominated Earth for 150 million years until their extinction 66 million years ago. While hundreds of fossil sites exist from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, only a handful of areas worldwide yield clues about their final days: the central United States, Brazil, Romania, India, China, and the Pyrenees.
Science continues to debate whether their extinction was triggered by the Chicxulub asteroid impact or if they were already in irreversible decline. This talk examines what geological evidence reveals about their ecosystems and final moments.
👤 Àngel Galobart at CaixaForum Palma
The lecture is presented by Dr. Àngel Galobart, PhD in Geology and graduate in Biological Sciences from the UAB. He leads the Dinosaur Ecosystems Research Group at the Institut de Paleontologia Miquel Crusafont and directs its associated museums. Researching Mesozoic sites since 2001, he has authored over 400 scientific papers.
ℹ️ Good to know: Suitable for all audiences. The approximate duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
