📖 Digital strategy and family debate

Video games allow us to simulate complex scenarios and play an active role in them. In this family workshop, participants use Plague Inc.—a plague simulator—to model how a social plague such as fake news takes hold. During the first half, groups design strategies to expand a network of false news and assess which approaches proved most effective.

In the second part, the challenge shifts to combating these falsehoods using custom-designed game materials and applying the insights gained earlier. Throughout the session, hands-on gaming alternates with guided discussions that connect the experience to real-world data, actual events, and personal experiences.
