📖 About the repertoire

The program explores the historic turning point between the late 16th and early 17th centuries across Europe, as vocal and instrumental music evolved from Renaissance polyphonic balance toward a fresh expressiveness centered on text, emotion, and contrast.

The program alternates sacred and secular works by composers such as Tomás Luis de Victoria, Luys de Narváez, Jacques Arcadelt, Tomàs Milans i Godayol, Joan Cererols, Claudio Monteverdi, Hieronymus Kapsberger, and Heinrich Schütz, moving between introspective spirituality and creative innovation.
