Hands on: Family Art Workshop at CaixaForum Palma

Art and bodily expression join together in an engaging workshop designed to awaken young senses at CaixaForum Palma. A welcoming sensory experience for families to share through touch, movement, and creative discovery. 🎨🖐️

This activity is part of the regular family workshops and visual arts programme organised by the ”la Caixa” Foundation cultural centre.

📖 Art through the body and touch

Guided by dance and movement, young participants discover the sensory, communicative, expressive, and creative potential of their hands. Through playful games and physical exploration, children experiment with the sense of touch, feel surfaces with various textures, and find gestures connected to different emotions and expressions.

The workshop encourages an intuitive approach to art originating in the body, nurturing curiosity, creativity, and non-verbal communication. To conclude the session, the gestures and sensations explored become part of a collective creative process, resulting in a collaborative artwork made with their own prints.

Housed in the landmark modernist building of the former Gran Hotel in Plaça de Weyler, CaixaForum Palma is a prominent cultural venue in the Balearic capital. The centre regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts, talks, and educational activities for visitors of all generations.
