📖 About the concert

British trombonist Ian Bousfield, former principal trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic, is the soloist in Tapias by Valencian composer Francisco Coll and in a tribute to Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey, two trombone legends of the swing era.

Under Guillermo García Calvo, the orchestra opens with Gershwin's festive Cuban Overture and closes with a selection from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, including the famous Dance of the Knights.

The Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra (OSIB) presents its 2026-2027 subscription season at the Auditorium: eleven concerts from October to May, always on Thursdays, with leading international soloists and its principal conductor, Pablo Mielgo.
