📖 A fusion of Balearic folk and jazz
Ovella Negra presents a musical project that blends traditional music from the Balearic Islands with the modern language of jazz. Through contemporary arrangements, the trio builds a bridge between two musical universes that complement each other naturally.
Their repertoire reinterprets jotas, boleros, and fandangos, weaving in jazz harmonies and innovative rhythmic textures. This artistic endeavor received the prestigious Premi Ciutat de Palma Bonet de Sant Pere de Música for its personal and respectful treatment of Balearic folk roots.
🎶 The trio and the Microconciertos series
The ensemble features Joan Frontera Luna on piano, Pablo Di Salvo on double bass, and Teo Salvà on drums. Each musician brings technical precision and expressiveness to craft a vibrant and engaging live performance.
This concert is presented within the Microconciertos program, featuring brief, small-format musical performances chosen in the CaixaForum 2026 open call.
