A sonic journey connecting past and present through folk music. Turmarí, the new show by the duo L’arannà, arrives at the Teatre Principal in Palma to offer a contemporary reinterpretation of the musical traditions of Ibiza and Formentera.
Through an intimate and experimental stage proposal, the show explores the “cant redoblat”A unique vocal style from the Pitiusas Islands, fused with contemporary sounds and an innovative stage aesthetic. The result is an experience that combines memory, identity and contemporary creation.
About the show
Created and performed by L’arannà (Anna Sala and Lara Magrinyà), Turmari It delves into the islands' imagery to construct a musical narrative that transcends folklore. Traditional instruments such as castanets, drums, and flutes coexist with synthesizers, generating a unique language that blends the ancestral with the modern.
Between songs recovered from archives and new compositions, the piece proposes a contemporary look at deeply Mediterranean cultural roots.
