XI Fira de l'Arròs Pobler 2026: Sa Pobla Rice Fair

Sa Pobla pays tribute to the crop that shaped its history, its economy and its cuisine. The 11th Fira de l'Arròs Pobler (Sa Pobla Rice Fair) fills the town with music, folk culture and food for a whole weekend. 🌾🥘

This year is special: it marks 125 years of rice growing in the marshlands of sa Pobla, and the fair coincides with the 31st gathering of xeremiers (Mallorcan bagpipers) and instrument makers and the 29th Giants' Gathering.

Saturday 21: guided walk in s'Albufera Natural Park "Water, rice and marsh" (10 am, limited places), family parade from Can Planes (10 am), children's bagpipers' gathering with the Cabreta d'Olot (11 am), fairground opening in Plaça Major (5 pm), Giants' Gathering and parade (5.30 pm), V Brou de Peix concert at Can Verdal (6.30 pm) and a concert for the 40th anniversary of the church organ's restoration (9 pm).

Sunday 22: bagpipers' gathering and instrument makers' fair in Plaça Mercat (from 9 am), traditional arròs brut cooked in Plaça Major with a charity tasting around 1 pm, archaeology play area, embroiderers' meeting, horse show (11 am), urban dance (12 pm) and folk dance with Marjal en Festa (6 pm).

Plus a local produce fair, craft stalls in the centre, exhibitions and fairground rides.

🌾 125 years of sa Pobla rice

In 1901 a Valencian company brought large-scale rice farming to s'Albufera. Today local farmers are reviving arròs pobler, the base of island dishes such as arròs brut.
