It is celebrated on December 31 in Palma and commemorates the conquest of the city by King Jaume I in 1229 after centuries of Arab domination. In the plaza de Cort, it takes place the ceremony of laying the Royal banner of conquest of Mallorca and the crest (animal figure that crowns the helmet of the Knights) King Martí. After this ritual, the people attend the traditional representation of La Colcada, a poem written by Pere Alcàntara in 1861 that describes how this festival was held in the 19th century.
