Monologue with Anabel Alonso: New Year's Eve, loneliness and a life that breaks inside (Simone de Beauvoir)

It's New Year's Eve. Murielle is alone at home and the noise from the street doesn't let her sleep.

In that vigil, everything comes upon her: memories, decisions, desires, guilt, love, motherhood and the place she occupies (or has been made to occupy) as a woman. An intimate and direct text, one of those that leaves you thinking when you leave.

Why go
If you like psychological stories and powerful monologues, this is a very well-rounded plan: close-up interpretation, emotional rhythm and a totally current theme.

To keep in mind
It is a very intimate format (monologue): it is more enjoyable if you go with the idea of listening and letting yourself be carried away by the text.

Pollença Wine Fair 2026
22 apr - 26 apr
FairsFree

Once again, Pollença beats to the ancient, unhurried rhythm of wine. During the weekend of its 23rd edition, the Wine Fair transforms the town into a space where time seems to slow down and everything revolves around a glass of wine. The cloister of Santo Domingo becomes both a refuge and a stage.

Between stone arches and filtered light, the wine takes on body and voice. It is not just a beverage: it is bottled landscape, the memory of the land, the invisible imprint of each season. Each tasting is a silent conversation with the sun, the wind, and the hands that have tended the vineyard.

This year, 37 wineries are showcasing their finest vintages, four of which are participating for the first time, adding to a vibrant tradition. The names of IGP Vi de la Terra de Mallorca, DO Pla i Llevant, DO Binissalem, and DO Montsant resonate, a testament to the island's diverse and rich viticultural heritage.

The fair is a meeting place for those who create and those who taste. Stories flow as naturally as the wine in the glass: anecdotes from harvests, bold decisions, and quiet lessons learned. Each wine holds a story waiting to be heard. Amid aromas that evoke ripe fruit, wood, or damp earth, the wine becomes the thread that weaves together shared emotions.

Sacred Dialogues: Steve Dobrogosz's Mass - Ensemble Vocal Art
18 apr
MusicFrom 15 €

Belarusian a cappella choir + contemporary mass with nods to jazz and gospel, in a beautiful downtown church

This concert is designed as a “double program” that complements each other very well.
In the first part, the Polifonica Choir (Minsk, Belarus) performs sacred and popular repertoire of its tradition, in a cappella format.
In the second part, Polifonica Choir and Art Vocal Ensemble join forces to perform Steve Dobrogosz's MISSA (1992), a very emotional choral work that mixes neoclassical language with elements of jazz and gospel.

Why go
Different choral music plan: first you “travel” with voices from Belarus and then comes the most spectacular part, with the two groups together in a contemporary mass that sounds modern and very involving.

To keep in mind
It is in a church, so it is advisable to arrive with room to enter calmly and choose a good place (the acoustics are part of the show).

A participatory experience that mixes live performance + technology to create a theatrical journey designed for teenagers and adults

Odissees is immersive theater: the audience not only watches, they are also part of the journey.

The work combines live physical performance with digital technology and proposes themes such as identity, connection between generations and “finding your tribe.” Use the Kalliôpé app (from La Fura dels Baus) to make the audience's cell phones part of the experience.

Why go
If you fancy a different (and very current) plan, what's powerful here is the mix of scene + technology and the participatory format.

To keep in mind
You are going to need your cell phone (it is part of the experience), so it is better to go with a battery.

Book stops + roses and signatures: the most beautiful day to walk through the center with a cultural plan

On April 23, Palma is filled with book and rose stalls and the center becomes a perfect route to walk, without rushing.

The grace is not “buying and that's it”: it is the atmosphere, the brands, the recommendations of booksellers and the street plan that the city creates for you.

📜 A little history

The tradition of Sant Jordi unites two symbols for different reasons:

Therose comes from the legend of Sant Jordi: after defeating the dragon, a red rose is born from his blood that the saint gives to the princess, and that is why the day is associated with giving roses.

The book is linked to Book Day because April 23 coincides with the date on which great authors such as Cervantes and Shakespeare, and the idea of giving books as gifts became popular.

Over time, both traditions came together and today is lived as a day ofroses + books: a perfect mix of affection and culture.

🗺️ Where is the atmosphere (to find your way quickly)

Normally it is distributed in very central areas: La Rambla, Passeig del Born, Via Roma, Sant Miquel and Plaça Major

Why go

Because it is the typical plan that works for everything: going as a couple, with friends, as a family or alone.

You can spend 20 minutes or take a “long route” and you always find something (a book you weren't looking for, a dedication, a rose, or simply the walk).

To take into account

It is a day with a lot of people in the center. If you want to move comfortably and see signatures calmly, it is best to go in the morning or early afternoon.

📍 Data

Date: April 23, 2026

Location: center of Palma (Rambla / Born / Sant Miquel / Plaça Major and surroundings)

Entry: FREE

🧠 Recommendations (the ones that really help)

  • If you want to “hunt” for a good book: start at Plaça Major + Sant Miquel (many bookstores are concentrated there).

  • If you are looking for a beautiful and atmospheric walk: take Born → Rambla (more “street route” and stops).

  • If you go with little ones: prioritize wide sections (Born/Via Roma) to be more comfortable with a stroller.

About the Exhibition

Through her innovative, experimental, and precise approach, Ángela de la Cruz (A Coruña, 1965), winner of the National Prize for Visual Arts (2017) and Turner Prize finalist (2010), has opened paths that many contemporary artists continue to explore. Her work is represented in public and private collections worldwide, and this exhibition features a selection from Spanish collections.

Stuck, the title of the exhibition, is more than a name—it is a statement of intent. Ángela de la Cruz’s works push painting to its limits, transforming it into object, sculpture, installation, and confrontation. Her deformed canvases and crushed stretcher frames create art that is intense, overwhelming, visceral, and yet beautiful, challenging conventional expectations.

The process of destruction and transformation is not merely formal but also conceptual: it questions traditional painting and artistic hierarchies, exploring the balance between fragility and strength, beauty and the uncanny.

Jean Marie del Moral, photographs. Horta Picasso – Miró Mont-roig (Miró Mallorca Foundation)
2 apr - 6 sep
ArtFrom 4 €

60 photos that connect Picasso and Miró through two key landscapes: Horta de Sant Joan and Mont-roig del Camp

This exhibition traces the relationship (almost invisible but very real) between Picasso and Miró through the places that marked their work.

Jean Marie del Moral returns to Horta de Sant Joan and Mont-roig del Camp and photographs their shapes, walls, rocks and horizons: two municipalities separated by a few kilometers, with the same ocher land and a surprisingly similar imaginary.

In Horta, Picasso pushes cubism; In Mont-roig, Miró paints his most “detailed” paintings. Everything seen from the poetic perspective of 60 images.

In addition, the exhibition is added to the new PHOTOFEST contest (April–May 2026).

Why go

Ideal if you like photography and want a plan that is not “just Miró”: here the hook is the landscape as the origin of art, and how two geniuses looked at the same thing… but painted differently.

To take into account

It is closed on Mondays and they do not sell tickets in the last 45 minutes before closing.
