The company Viatge al món de n'Aina brings a story about arguments, points of view and how hard it is to always be right. Storytelling in Catalan, with humour and audience participation, for the whole family.

🌅 Magaluf, a place to live

The programme runs from Thursday to Sunday, between 6 pm and 10 pm, alternating open-air cinema, concerts, dance workshops, storytelling, yoga and children's shows. Everything is free to attend and no booking is needed: just turn up at the square.

Plaça Jacques Sasson sits right beside Magaluf beach, on the promenade, with shade and open space to sit down. It is where the town has concentrated its commitment to local culture, aimed at residents of Calvià and visitors alike.

ℹ️ Good to know: an open-air activity with free entry until the space is full. Arriving a little early is a good idea and, for evening sessions, so is a light jacket.

Muro fills with music, art and culture for three days. In 2026 S'Octufesta takes on a new format and becomes a free, multidisciplinary arts festival open to everyone. 🎶🎨

🎸 Music for every taste

The line-up mixes rock, indie, punk, folk, Brazilian rhythms, pop and electronic music, with acts such as Dan Peralbo i el Comboi, Cucorba Rock, Forró do Pulpo, Rissaga, La Belle Époque, Daltònic, Conte Contat, Anís, Ánimos Parrec, Las Maltitas, Perras Callejeras and Miki x Krls, among others. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

🎨 The first Mostra d'Art

The big news this year is the Mostra d'Art, the first art exhibition organised by Muro Town Council. Up to 50 artists show painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, illustration, video art, performance and installations in the old school building and its courtyards. The theme is open, and the works are selected by a panel made up of an artist, a cultural manager and the council's Culture Department.

The aim is to bring art closer to the public: the works are not for sale during the exhibition, they are there to be seen and enjoyed.

📖 Vernacular crafts and contemporary art

The exhibition stems from a desire to revisit vernacular crafts and techniques from a contemporary perspective. Through this approach, it brings together an array of artistic practices that engage with the specific materials and landscapes from which they originate, linking memory and current creation.

"A media lumbre" features an outstanding selection of artists from the Balearic Islands or residing in the archipelago. Participating names include Ana Laura Aláez, Isabel Servera, Adriana Meunié, Marta Font, Teresa Matas, Tonina Crespí, and the duo Joan Pere Català Roig & Albert Pinya.

🏛️ Institutional network and Biennal B

The project is a co-production with Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani de Palma and Sa Refinadora in Marratxí. It also extends across multiple territories and venues: IVAM (Institut Valencià d’Art Modern), CDAN (Centre d’Art i Natura d’Osca), and Museu Terra in Catalonia.

Across Mallorca, the initiative takes place concurrently at Casal Solleric, Es Baluard Museu, and Sa Refinadora in Marratxí.

The project stems from the desire to review vernacular crafts and techniques from a contemporary perspective, in order to articulate a constellation of artistic practices that engage with the materials and landscapes that originate them.

Ceramics, plant fibers, textiles, and wood cease to be mere "crafts" and become a language. This is the second stop on a project that began in Valencia and, in Palma, incorporates names from the Balearic Islands.

From 14 to 18 October, Inca and Palma fill up with comic panels for a new edition of CòmicNostrum, the Balearic Islands' major comics festival. 📚🎨

It is organised by the Clúster de Còmic i Nous Mèdia de Mallorca, which has run the festival since 2012. A meeting point for professionals and fans, with international authors, publishers, exhibitions and a comics market.

📖 The everyday art of Chopin and Sand

The exhibition explores how their time on the island shaped their respective creative works across two distinct exhibition rooms.

The first room focuses on local landscapes and traditional culinary culture. It features three landscape paintings on loan from Museu de Mallorca, alongside two glass bell jars with flowers and a collection of copper cookware and popular kitchen utensils.

The second room displays museography from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw. Highlights include twelve original preludes, a large painting depicting the composer's final moments at the piano, a bronze cast of his hand, and portraits of both figures.

The Palma City Council, in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in WarsawThis exhibition has been organized to showcase the influence that time spent in Mallorca had on the works of Chopin and George Sand. The exhibition is divided into two rooms. ✍️ Juan Moreno

Designer, illustrator and comic artist. He began his career in El Víbora magazine, drawing stories written by Onliyú, Alfredo Pons and Martí.

His work shows a world of its own, unsettling and funny at once, set in Formentera. Today his comics appear in ADN, the only comics magazine currently published in the Balearic Islands, in Catalan. Moreno is also one of its editors.

The intervention connects with another highlight of the festival: the exhibition El Víbora, contracultura en vena at Cas Metge Cifre in Inca, which reviews 25 years of the magazine where Moreno started out.

Juan Moreno is also one of the guest authors at the festival activities at Fàbrica Ramis in Inca on 17 and 18 October.

✨ An atomic cat on the loose in Palma's old town.

The great artist of the American underground and his other passion: early 20th-century music. The comics library at Can Sales displays the trading-card collections that Robert Crumb devoted to the pioneers of blues, jazz, country and accordion. 🎨🎶

📖 The exhibition

In the 1980s, Crumb drew four series of illustrations that he gathered into trade card collections: portraits of Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, Memphis Minnie, Son House and dozens of musicians who defined American popular music.

The display cases of the library's comics section show these collections alongside other curiosities by the artist.

Crumb is arguably the most important artist of the American underground of the 1960s and 70s, creator of Fritz the Cat and Mr. Natural. An obsessive collector of 78 rpm records, his love of early blues and jazz runs through many of his comics.

📖 An austere gaze on iconic architecture

Photographing Antoni Gaudí's oeuvre poses a real challenge: bringing a fresh perspective to buildings that have been thoroughly documented worldwide. Rather than chasing unseen fragments, Ortiz approaches the structures with deliberate distance and sobriety. His vision highlights the interplay between artisan tradition and technical innovation, giving center stage to the workshop-laboratory as the birthplace of Gaudí's concepts.

By stripping away color rhetoric and zooming in on structural details, the images reveal an unexpectedly modern Gaudí while staying true to Ortiz's recognizable visual vocabulary, creating a balanced dialogue between architect and photographer.

📷 About the exhibition

Photographing architecture, especially that of Antoni Gaudí, presents a particular challenge and an inevitable question: what can a new perspective bring to such photographed works?

Aitor Ortiz took on the challenge of photographing the architecture of the Catalan genius to explain something that had not been seen in the same way until now. He did not set out to find elements not yet photographed—perhaps impossible—but rather to observe them with austerity and detachment. Subtly, he also reveals the Gaudí who navigated between the artisanal traditions of the past and the technological modernity of his time, emphasizing the importance of his workshop-laboratory.

By eliminating the rhetoric of color and delving into the details, he discovers a Gaudí who is surprisingly current and modern for his time.

Cineforum series at CaixaForum Palma
A film club open to all audiences (with a special focus on senior audiences) to watch films as a shared experience: presentation by an expert, screening and subsequent conversation.
🎬🗣️ Each block revolves around a universal theme (childhood, memory, migrations, war, beauty or family) and combines classics with contemporary titles.

Because it's not just “going to the movies”: it's cinema with context and debate, ideal if you like to go out with ideas and conversation. Additionally, the cycle format lets you choose by topic (or follow them all).

Rebeca Morey Pérez (Palma, 2004) has just graduated from ADEMA Fine Arts. She acknowledges that her vocation and destiny have always been to dedicate herself to art: she remembers how she used paints to draw and plasticine to find shapes that she would recreate time and time again.

This educational commitment has led her to embark on an artistic adventure, and Casal Solleric is supporting her with the first installment of NousTalents, a program dedicated to giving initial institutional visibility to newly graduated artists from the Islands.

His pieces, made of ceramic material and with an almost organic presence, occupy the space of the Aljub, the old cistern of the palace converted into an exhibition hall.

The exhibition is part of Nous Talents 1, a collaborative initiative between Casal Solleric and ADEMA Bellas Artes designed to support young creative talent in Palma.

Climb up to the terraces to see Palma from above: bay, bell tower, flying buttresses and rose window (guided tours in shifts)

If you are looking for a “wow” plan without leaving the center, this is one of the most special experiences: you tour the terraces of the Cathedral and see up close elements that are normally only appreciated from below (buttresses, rose windows, Gothic details), as well as brutal views of the bay and the city.

The visits are made in groups, with shifts every 30 minutes and lasting approximately 1 hour.

It is the typical plan that surprises even if you have already been to the Cathedral: it totally changes the perspective and feels very “Palma”.

🌳 About the exhibition

"Beneath my feet stretches an invisible network that shares water, nutrients, and memory. Nothing lives alone. The forest exists because each of its elements sustains the others in a silent and persistent balance."

The group of sculptures of Fabian Schalekamp (Palma, 1964) proposes to reconstruct that forest of our collective imagination in a transit space —the Espai COR, in the epicenter of the city— and to turn it, even if only for an instant, into a space for reflection.

Fires, deforestation, and the climate emergency speak to the disruption of this balance. Perhaps protecting the forest is not just about conserving trees, but about regaining awareness of our interdependence with everything around us. Artwork made of wild olive wood, dimensions vary.

📖 The interconnectedness of nature

With “El cor del bosc”, the artist invites visitors to look beyond the visible surface of the landscape. Through minimal, graceful, and ethereal structures, the exhibition evokes the pulse of underground roots and the network that shares water, nutrients, and memory to sustain plant life.

These fleeting architectures avoid monumentality and permanence. Their open, light lines inspire a slower, more attentive, and humble way of cohabiting with the living world.

🎨 The artist and Espai Cor

Fabián Schalekamp (Palma, 1964), raised in a family dedicated to culture and visual arts, has built a coherent artistic path focusing on sculpture, drawing, and environmental installations rooted in ecology.

The exhibition is set in the Cort foyer, turning a public city space into a peaceful sanctuary for artistic reflection.

📖 The exhibition

«Kajika's» brings together the pieces that Santos Iñurrieta (Vitoria, 1950 - Mallorca, 2023) built from figures bought at flea markets. He took them apart and recombined them into sculptural comic panels: scenes full of irony that work like a comics page without paper.

The result is a very particular black humour, aimed at politics, religion, consumerism and the small miseries of everyday life.

🏛️ A festival that leaves the page

The show fits the spirit of this edition of CòmicNostrum, which takes comics onto shoes, mazes and trading cards. On 16 October, the ADEMA Campus also hosts the festival's professional day, with workshops and talks by Tomeu Morey, Puño and Marika Vila.

📖 The exhibition

Between 1979 and 2004, El Víbora published 300 issues and became a space for creative freedom, social critique and experimentation. The show reviews its history and the mark it left on Spanish comics.

🐍 A magazine that defined an era

Published by La Cúpula, it brought together artists such as Max, Nazario, Gallardo, Mediavilla, Marta Guerrero and Juan Moreno. Its spirit lives on in much of today's auteur comics.

On Saturday 17 at 7 pm, Fàbrica Ramis hosts the round table «El Víbora, contracultura en vena» with Emilio Bernárdez, Marta Guerrero, Max and MacDiego (in Spanish).

💚 About the exhibition

Club Miseria: The Last Beat is a new activation of the Club Miseria project, conceived by Bel Fullana and originally presented at Casal Solleric in 2019. That first version turned the room into a kind of synthetic, dysfunctional and acid club, imbued with sound, green neon lights, digital aesthetics, rave culture, humor and excess.

This new appearance doesn't reconstruct that club: it evokes it from another place, as a vestige, a sign, and its final heartbeat. The project unfolds through an archaeological capsule visible from the Born district, a light installation in acid green, and a monumental inflatable sculpture installed in the courtyard.

Throughout the exhibition period, the courtyard is traversed by a sound piece that transforms the installation into a desolate disco, a post-rave architecture in ruins inhabited by the reverberation of a party that has already passed or that perhaps has not yet ended.

🎧 Night of Art

During Nit de l'Art 2026, the courtyard is activated with two performative DJ sets by Virgen María and Oro Jondo, in a hybrid format between club and contemporary art, where the dance floor also appears as a political tool: a place to meet, occupy the space and generate other forms of community.

Casal Solleric is the contemporary art center of Palma City Council, housed in a Baroque palace on Passeig del Born. Its rooms—main floor, ground floor, mezzanine, the Aljub, and the courtyard—host exhibitions by local and international artists throughout the year.

Club Miseria: The Last Beat does not aim to reconstruct the original club, but to evoke it as a relic, a sign, and a final pulse. Visitors will see how the first women artists were confined to romance and fairy-tale comics and how, step by step, they made their way into every genre: from graphic novels to superheroes, from manga to period drama.

👞 How it was made

Starting from the templates of the leather pieces that make up a shoe, each artist created a comic. The leathers were printed and each company assembled the final shoe for the exhibition.

🏭 The Raiguer, land of shoes

Inca and the Raiguer district have been the heart of Mallorca's footwear industry for over a century. The museum tells that story and now crosses it with comics.
